It was a Friday night on October 6th, but the design set came out in full creative force to preview the enigmatic collections of NUOVO’s latest curated brand, Zanotta, at their Central showroom.
Aptly titled Timeless, this showcased featured different zones, with Carlo Mollino’s classical pieces such as Arabesco, Gilda and Ardea reinvented by Zanotta, as well as other genius creations endowed with the brand’s avant garde yet playful spirit. At the entrance, guests were charmed by the Sciangai 50 coat hanger with its colourful, elegant formation, and admired the Zanotta Edizioni’s unique Calamobio chest of drawers designed by Alessandro Mendini.
A piece of art furniture, only nine originals exist, numbered and signed and each series features a different colour sequence of the wooden inlays on the side of the cabinet. The Quaderna table stood stylishly on the side for guests to marvel at its intricate workmanship, while others tested the sofas and chairs in turn to test their comfort factor. Marco ven Velsen, the brand’s export manager, explained how Zanotta had designed the perfect chair for a man and the perfect one for a woman based on their different ergonomics and habits, and when designers sunk into the Maggiolina lounge chair (the ideal man chair), they couldn’t agree more.
Pak Man Lee, NUOVO’s CEO raised a toast to the successful event that further cemented his lifestyle emporium as a trendsetting curator of furnishing brands. Find out more about these exclusive pieces at NUOVO’s Central showroom.
