Sofas can be traced as far back as 2000BC since Pharaohs in Ancient Egypt. However, with the fall of Rome in the 5th century, came the fall of the sofa for one thousand years. The sofa made its renaissance during the 16th century in Europe: most homes were waterproof and comfortable enough, that is how sofa resurrection took its place. It was era of design and comfort. In late 1800’s, during the time of advancements and industrial revolution (sewing machines),
sofa became more affordable. At the height of sofa “popularity”, families would sit and listen to broadcasts in the evenings, with a sofa making the experience more enjoyable.
